The six Palestinian prisoners who escaped the Giboa prison in September were formally indicted Sunday, the Israeli Occupation Ministry of Justice said.

The six prisoners- Zakaria Zubeidi, Monadel Yacoub Nafe’at, Yaqoub Mahmoud Qadri, Ayham Nayef Kamamji, Mahmoud Abdullah Ardah and Muhammad Qasem Ahmad Ardah- were charged with escaping from the high-security Gilboa prison, while five others were accused of helping them escape, according to a statement.

The other five who helped the six Palestinians were charged with covering up and helping with the escape operation. Their names are Mahmoud Abu Ashreen, Qusai Merei, Ali Abu Bakr, Mahmoud Abu Bakr and Iyad Jaradat.

Sept. 6, six Palestinians escaped Israeli Occupation Gilboa prison in the north of the country by digging the tunnel.

Gilboa prison is considered one of Israeli Occupation’s most secure facilities, due to the heavy fortification and the security procedures followed inside it.

Sept. 11, Hebrew media announced the recapture of Zakaria Zubeidi and Muhammad Ardah near Jabal Al-Tur, north of occupied Palestine.

This came hours after the Israeli Occupation arrested Yaqoub Qadri and Mahmoud Arda.

Sept. 19, the Israeli Occupation announced the arrest of the last two Palestinian escapees who managed to escape from Gilboa prison- Ayham Kamamji and Monadel Nafe’at.
